A look at the top football games across Nebraska tonight and where you can watch them.
BIG GAME: Wahoo already has a big win over Pierce. They get another crack at one tonight when they face Scotus Central Catholic. (Flatwater Sports / Andrew Placke)
Another big Friday of football across the state. Time for another Full Stream Ahead for links to the top games we have found around the state for tonight. Each week, we’ll try to find the five best games of the week that you can watch on your phone, on your laptop, on the television, however you want to do it.
This is also, your public service announcement not to click on those silly imposter Facebook links. Our good friends at the NSAA have released a member school streaming directory as well this year, so you don’t fall victim. You can bookmark this, but we’ll include it each week as well.
Let’s get you some games for Week Seven of the Nebraska prep season. All ratings from the latest nebpreps.com Coaches Poll.
Class A, No. 1 Omaha Westside (6-0) at Class A, No. 5 Kearney (6-0): There are three unbeaten teams left in Class A and two will battle tonight at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium at UNK. Westside has many stars — Rezac, Benning, Ross — but it’s the defense that has been locked in. Three shutouts and 26 points allowed in six outings. The Warriors lone blemish in last year’s title run; a road trip to North Platte. The Bearcats will need to be stingy on defense and likely cause some turnovers to make this a good one. Kearney Striv
Class C-1, No. 7 Aurora (4-2) at Class C-1, No. 6 Adams Central (6-0): An important game in the Class C-1 race, with the Patriots getting their first stern test. The Huskies hold a win over Class B, No. 8 Northwest in their opener and have losses to No. 1 Boone Central and No. 3 Ashland-Greenwood. This one could give us a clear picture on where the Class C-1 playoff picture looks like heading into the final two weeks of the season. Adams Central Striv
Class C-1, Scotus Central Catholic (4-2) at Class C-1, No. 2 Wahoo (6-0): Wahoo has the look of a clear title contender after opening with wins over No. 3 Ashland-Greenwood and No. 4 Pierce. In the four games since they have allowed just 12 points. Tonight the Rocks get the first of three closers that will determine their playoff fate. It’s the Pinnacle Bank Game-of-the-Week. Wahoo Hudl Live
Class B, No. 9 Seward (5-1) at Class B, No. 6 York (4-2): We have heard stories about this being a “police escort” game into town for the road team. Not sure it’s like that anymore, but this is a big one in the Class B playoff race. Certainly, Seward’s biggest challenge since their lone loss to No. 8 Northwest a few weeks ago. The Dukes continue to lean on their defense, but the offense got going in a 41-20 win over Gretna East last week. This was an opening round playoff game a season ago. York Striv
Class D-1, No. 2 Cross County (6-0) at Class D-1, No. 10 Clarkson/Leigh (4-2): An all-timer last year with Cross County scoring late to give C/L their only loss in a state championship season. Now, it’s the Cougars who are hunted at No. 2 as their finish their season with “playoff games.” This one. And 7-0 Shelby/Rising City next week. Clarkson/Leigh Hudl Live
BONUS GAME — Class C-2, No. 10 Kearney Catholic (5-1) at Class C-2, No. 3 Ord (4-2): Couldn’t resist adding a bonus game here as the Stars will try and knock off their second consecutive ranked opponent and the Chants will get a crack to continue to again prove their No. 3 ranking with losses to No. 1 Norfolk Catholic and No. 2 Battle Creek. Ord YouTube Live
Those are just a few we will be tracking for our Saturday newsletter. You can get the full Striv schedule here and all of the Hudl games here. If you have not downloaded the NE ScoreFeed yet, you can do it here. A must have for Friday night.
