Full Stream Ahead: 09.22.2023

A look at the top football games across Nebraska tonight and where you can watch them.

BIG GAME: Another big one at East Hill Park tonight as Class B, No. 5 York hosts No. 3 Waverly. (Flatwater Sports / Dante Boelhower)

Another big Friday of football across the state and so today, we debut a new page for you to help find the top streaming games in the state. We’ll call it Full Stream Ahead, unless you have a better idea. Then, hit us up on Twitter and we’ll consider all the good ones.

Our plan here? Each week, we’ll try to find the five best games of the week that you can watch on your phone, on your laptop, on the television, however you want to do it.

This is also, your public service announcement not to click on those silly imposter Facebook links. Our good friends at the NSAA have released a member school streaming directory as well this year, so you don’t fall victim. You can bookmark this, but we’ll include it each week as well.

Let’s get you some games for Week Four of the Nebraska prep season. All ratings from the latest nebpreps.com Coaches Poll.

Class B, No. 6 Scottsbluff (3-1) at Class B, RV Northwest (1-3): Don’t let the records deceive you — this one has a tendency to be a one possession game in the fourth quarter. Northwest has played four ranked teams in as many games beating current No. 9 Seward, while Scottsbluff has played two Class A teams. The Cats are looking to bounce back from a 14-10 loss to York last week. Northwest Striv

Class B, No. 3 Waverly (4-0) at Class B, No. 5 York (3-1): An important game in the Class B race, which the Dukes made even more important with their 14-10 win at Scottsbluff last Friday night. York coach Glen Snodgrass loves his defense, calling it one of his fastest units ever. It will get tested again tonight with a Waverly offense putting up nearly 370 yards a game led by quarterback Nolan Maahs. York Striv

Class C-2, No. 5 Yutan (3-1) at Class C-2, No. 6 Bishop Neumann (3-1): A pair of Nebraska commits here. The Chieftains, with Derek Wacker, have bounced back from an opening loss to Malcolm with three straight wins, included 28-20 over then-unbeaten North Bend Central last week. The Cavs, and junior Conor Booth, will try to bounce back from their first loss to St. Cecilia last week. Some gets the inside track to some home playoffs games here. Bishop Neumann Hudl Live

Class C-2, No. 10 Hartington Cedar Catholic (3-1) at Class C-2, No. 3 Oakland-Craig (3-1): A good, old-fashioned northeast Nebraska doozy. The Knights have played well since an opening loss to No. 1 Norfolk Catholic. Quarterback Braylon Anderson is leading an attack that averages nearly 380 yards per contest. Senior JT Brands is getting well-deserved recruiting attention and leads the Knight defense with 27 tackles. Cedar Catholic bounced back from a 28-6 loss to Yutan with a 42-7 win over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder last Friday. Oakland-Craig Striv

Class D-2, No. 6 Nebraska City Lourdes (4-0) at Class D-2, No. 5 Johnson-Brock (4-0): Another one of those hard to beat 8-man football on the field turf games when Lourdes travels to J-B. The Eagles fast-paced offense and quarterback Sloan Pelican gets its first real test against a Knights team that bounced BDS last week on a late score. In that game quarterback Noah Beccard threw for 304 yards against a team that hadn’t allowed a point in three games. Hit favorite target was junior Brady Schnitzler who had nine grabs for 144 yards. Johnson-Brock Striv

Those are just a few we will be tracking for our Saturday newsletter. You can get the full Striv schedule here and all of the Hudl games here. If you have not downloaded the NE ScoreFeed yet, you can do it here. A must have for Friday night.
